the start of it all

This coming tuesday (July 1, 2008) I will be starting the rest of my life! Very cliche, right. But it is true, on tuesday I will begin a year of study on the pastry course at L'Academie de Cuisine. One year from now I will have a huge new skill set and lots of new knowledge and a shiny new certificate that says I am a for-real pastry chef.  I am pretty sure that I have never been this excited about anything so far in my life, especially not anything that could be considered school. But here I am, amped up to go school on tuesday. I am not even deterred by the fact that I will be getting up at 5 am four days a week for the next six months at least, and most likely for the rest of my life. No, I am not deterred, I am EXCITED.

In any case I feel like this is an experience that calls for documentation. In the process that led me to be starting school on tuesday I spent a good amount of time trying to find blogs about being/becoming a pastry chef. There are not very many and I only found one truly good one ( foodbeam ).  I hope to keep this blog both for myself and for others who want to embark on a similar journey, not to mention for friends, acquaintances and relatives who might be interested to know what I am learning.

It's friday now. Tuesday it all begins! I can't wait!!!!
